Sting is knife prominently featured in The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Although made by the Elves as a large knife, for the smaller race of Hobbits it functioned well as a short sword. Bilbo Baggins named the weapon after using it to fend off the giant spiders in Mirkwood forest, then later passed it on to Frodo for him to use in his quest to destroy the One Ring. Sting would glow blue whenever orcs were nearby.
Frodo's sword used prominently in the Lord of the Rings books as well as the movies is faithfully reproduced by Unted Cutlery down to each detail. The blade is made of Tempered 420 J2 stainless steel with etched runes in the Elven language. The Hardwood handgrip is adorned with Elven vine design. This Sting replica also features a solid metal guard and pommel with antiqued metal finish.
